After your first visit:

On your first visit, Dr. Merrilee Foreman performes an evaluation exam and treatment. Now that your spine is back in alignment, the muscles have to adjust to their proper lengths again. This means that you will probably be a little sore for the first few days following your first adjustment. Muscles that were previously contracted will be stretching to their proper length and vice versa. To speed your healing please drink plenty of water and follow the Dr.’s instructions regarding the use of heat or ice packs.

During your second visit, Dr. Foreman will analyze how your body has responded to your first adjustment then create a treatment plan that is best suited to you. Due to the biomechanical changes that are occurring, you will need to be seen more often at first. The Doctor’s goal is to get you to a maintenance schedule of one visit every 4-6 weeks. If any new symptoms occur or you have had a fall or any other accident please contact Dr. Foreman as soon as possible. Don’t make yourself endure any more pain. The longer you take to come in for treatment after an accident, the longer it will take you to heal.

If at any time after a treatment anything feels more painful than sore or if you have any concerns, call our office. Dr. Foreman is available to help you and answer any questions. The after hours emergency number is 505-269-4205. Leave a message and Dr. Foreman will get back to you as soon as possible.
